How I Help

Every organization I work with is different — different mission, different moment, different challenge. But the through line is always the same: you know what you’re capable of, and you need the right strategic partner to get there — helping build the strategy, culture, and capacity to win.

I offer three core areas of support — individually or as a fully integrated engagement — depending on where you are and what you need most.

Strategic Clarity For What's Next

Sometimes the challenge isn’t effort — it’s direction. You’re working hard, but the path forward isn’t clear. Or you have a bold vision, but translating it into a strategy that actually works feels out of reach.

That’s where I come in. I work alongside you to cut through the noise, identify what matters most, and build a strategy that matches both your ambition and the moment you’re in — whether that’s an external campaign, a new initiative, or a fundamental rethink of your approach.

Here's what strategic clarity looks like in practice:

Construction worker representing migrant labor rights in Qatar

ITUC: Rethinking Human Rights in Qatar

Union members marching for workers' rights

Australian Services Union: Digital Transformation

CIWF: Capitalizing on a Critical Political Moment

Let's find your path forward.

Results When It Matters Most

A great strategy is only as good as its execution. And execution is where a lot of organizations struggle — not because they lack commitment, but because turning a plan into real-world change requires a different kind of focus and follow-through.

I’m a hands-on partner from start to finish — helping navigate obstacles, keep up momentum, and make sure the work translates into meaningful, real-world results.

Here's what that looks like when it counts:

Rainbow rings representing marriage equality in Australia

Australia: Building a National Movement for Marriage Equality

Barack Obama delivering a speech at a major political event

Obama Inauguration: Delivering on the Biggest Stage

Volunteer making a heart gesture representing community engagement

Greenpeace International: Recruiting Talent to Reflect Global Diversity

Let's make sure you're ready to meet the moment.

Greater Capacity, Greater Impact

The most common thing I hear from organizations isn’t “we don’t know what to do” — it’s “we don’t have the capacity to do it.” Strong teams, smart programs, and effective ways of working aren’t nice-to-haves. They’re what separates organizations that aspire to change the world from those that actually do.

I work alongside teams to strengthen the foundations that make lasting impact possible, through leadership development, learning programs, and culture-building tailored to where you are and, more importantly, where you want to be.

Here's how stronger capacity creates greater impact:

Healthcare worker representing ONE.org's global poverty and HIV/AIDS work

ONE: Equipping Advocates for Vaccine Equity

Diverse group of women leaders representing ITUC's Women in Leadership program

ITUC: Empowering A New Generation of Leaders

Volunteer collecting plastic waste on a beach representing environmental activism

Mobilization Lab: Accelerating Change

Let's build the foundations for lasting impact.

Invited by the world's peak union body to help revitalize their Qatar 2022 World Cup campaign strategy, I revised their approach and re-engaged union members worldwide — contributing to the labor reforms that freed 2 million migrant workers from the kafala system.

“Aaron brought digital campaigns to life at the ITUC — and we keep coming back for more! Under Aaron’s guidance, we have strengthened and developed the ITUC’s campaigns and activism. Working with the team Aaron has built confidence, skills and new ways of working to generate creative ideas that engage people in social justice issues.”

Gemma Swart
Former ITUC Global Media and Campaigns Lead

I worked with the Australian Services Union to develop and articulate a digital vision and establish a strategy — marrying online and organizational goals — that drove their digital transformation, helping ASU mature into a nationally recognized leader in e-advocacy.

“Aaron built the digital department, updating our skills and giving us significantly greater in-house communication capacity that is more responsive to new and emerging technologies. His time at the ASU left the union in an immeasurably stronger position, and his impact can be felt throughout the Australian union movement.”

Katherine Barnsley
Former ASU Director of Research and Professional Standards

I stepped in as Interim Campaigns Director at Compassion in World Farming during a critical EU election cycle — coordinating campaigns across 7 EU markets that secured pledges from 1,100+ candidates and MEPs on animal welfare. A strategically-timed investigation across Italy, Poland, and Spain reignited the EU cage ban campaign, contributing to the EU Livestock Strategy (2026) — a commitment to phase out cages for 160 million+ animals a year.

“Aaron stepped into CIWF at a key moment, just when we needed it. He helped shape our post-EU election strategy and introduced tools and techniques that strengthened CIWF’s work well beyond his time with us. What I appreciated most: Aaron translates vision into real-world results — while truly caring about the people behind them.”

Owen Gibbons
Former CIWF Regional Director of Campaigns and Policy Advocacy

I convened LGBTQ+ leaders and allies from across Australia to build a national marriage equality strategy — coordinating at a country level and leading GetUp!'s advocacy stream during a pivotal early chapter of the campaign that would ultimately deliver full equality for Australian couples in 2017.

“Throughout the campaign, I was impressed by Aaron’s knowledge and skill. His strategic advice shaped our approach — both for mobilising supporters and amplifying on-the-ground campaigning. His coaching built our team’s capacity for long-term impact. Aaron is someone you can trust to lead a team to success.”

Adam Knobel
Former YES Equality Digital Campaign Director

As part of Barack Obama's 2013 Presidential Inaugural Committee, I led the strategy ensuring a safe and seamless experience for dignitaries and distinguished guests — including cabinet members, the diplomatic corps, and presidential family and friends — at one of the world's most high-profile events.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Aaron on a number of occasions, and have always been impressed by the level of professionalism, quality, and attitude that he brings to every event. If I — and President Obama — could trust him with high-caliber projects, you can too, because Aaron always delivers.”

Tabitha Bennett
Former White House Crowd Logistics Lead

Greenpeace International brought me in to rethink their Talent Acquisition Program — developing new approaches to engage current and potential employees that significantly improved recruitment and retention of staff reflecting the diversity of their 27 global offices.

“Aaron is, by far, one of the most talented people I have had the pleasure of working with in my career. He is a professional with exceptional active listening skills as well as emotional intelligence and is extremely adept at navigating highly sensitive political subjects. When we need someone to lead a successful strategy or its implementation, Aaron is always our first choice.”

Kate Hutchinson-Keesen
Greenpeace International Global HR Project Manager

When COVID hit, vaccine equity became ONE.org's defining campaign — and nearly 1,000 activists worldwide needed to pivot from in-person to online training, fast. I designed and built a global learning program from scratch that kept them sharp and effective in the fight for vaccine equity.

“Aaron made a huge contribution to our team at the most difficult time imaginable, and was still able to deliver great results that will transform how we work in the future.”

Saira O’Mallie
ONE.org Director of Planning and Performance

The ITUC brought me in to design and deliver 'Storytelling for Change' as part of their Women in Leadership program — equipping a new generation of trade union leaders with the skills and confidence to champion workers' rights and gender equality around the world.

“We are immensely grateful to Aaron for ongoing support in empowering women leaders. His commitment to advancing workers’ rights and gender equality is evident in our work together over many years. It’s a pleasure to collaborate with someone who truly understands the needs of our movement.”

Paola Simonetti
Equality Department Director, International Trade Union Confederation

Greenpeace International invited me to co-create 'Campaign Accelerator' with their Mobilization Lab — a 5-day strategy design sprint helping teams around the world quickly turn opportunities into imaginative, people-powered campaigns focused on systemic change.

“Aaron possesses a formidable arsenal of strategic, campaign and communication skills, complemented by an ability to approach challenges from a big picture perspective while somehow managing to not miss any detail. He excels at quickly building productive relationships and working with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams across the globe, which made him an invaluable member of our team as we designed and delivered Greenpeace trainings around the world.”

David Roth
Former Greenpeace International Learning & Development Partner
